John Oates, a member of one of the most successful duos in rock history, also has an accomplished solo career.

John Oates was destined to be a musician. In 1966 he wrote and recorded his first single "I Need Your Love", receiving airplay on Philly's R&B radio stations.

Around the same time he met Jerry Ricks, a guitar player and teacher who introduced John to performers like Doc Watson, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee. John had the unique opportunity to play alongside some of these seminal musicians learning their styles firsthand.

John Oates has since recorded three solo albums; the most recent entitled “Mississippi Mile”.

"His latest CD, Mississippi Mile, takes the audience on a journey of the evolution of music as Oates experienced it growing up. Opening his heart and his personal feelings, Oates' vulnerability shines through his remakes of classical hits from major artists who greatly influenced the music industry."
