My name is Nick Bertke, better known on the web and in the music scene as Pogo. I’m the chap behind such movie remixes as Alice, Upular and Skynet Symphonic, and I’ve spent so much time making music that it’s now all I do with my life. I have worked for major studios including Disney Pixar and Showtime, found myself in the Wall Street Journal, performed for YouTube Play at the Guggenheim Museum, and have managed to share my music with over 11 million people on YouTube to whom I owe everything for their overwhelming love and support. It is my ultimate goal to help make the world a better place with my music, and I’m eternally grateful to everyone who tunes in to help me achieve this goal.

Contrary to my YouTube username (which is the price I pay for having been a teenager with a video blog once upon a dark time), I’m actually a very likeable guy with nothing against homosexuality whatsoever. Ever since my folks bought me a desktop tape recorder when I was two of years age, I’ve been completely obsessed with melody and rhythm. As a toddler, I’d be glued to films like ‘Oliver!’, ‘The King & I’ and ‘Mary Poppins’, even though I couldn’t understand what the films were about. I discovered the world of MIDI when I was 9, and formed a band with my friends called Minor Conflict when I was 10. We won several talent quests before I left New Zealand for Perth, Western Australia.

Between ages 7 and 18, I filled over 90 cassette tapes with recordings of music I liked on the radio. Dance, House, Hip-Hop, Drum & Bass, even Jazz and Classical. Soon after moving to Perth, I fell in love with the Playstation games Music and Music 2000 before discovering PC software like Cakewalk and FLStudio. Since I was a toddler, there have always been small pieces of music and dialogue in movies that stand out to me, so with a copy of ‘Oliver!’ on DVD, I began splicing sounds and piecing them together like a jigsaw puzzle. I later worked on ‘Alice In Wonderland’ to produce my track and video ‘Alice’, which sky-rocketed my internet identity as a music producer far beyond expectation.
