One was a fantasy. We wrote the songs – major chords, twists and turns, stops and starts – but we didn’t plan this. This is making an album. Finding out it’s not just standing in front of a mic, play them through, album done. So recording it three times, just to be pig-headed. Showing off. Being the kids who think they know everything, forgetting they don’t know anything. Songs about murder, sex, ignorance, cascading like punk-pop. 130 bpm. A ccents sparky and hard. Goodbye clubs of the North-East, hello NME tour, how-do-you-do Britain, bonjour Europe, God bless you America. Earning the stripes. Living the dream. The way it should be.
