J Tillman (Joshua Tillman) tasted fame for the first time as a member of Fleet Foxes, the Seattle folk band who experienced a wonderfully successful 2008. But he was a solo artist in his own right before joining the band, and continues to release material under his own name.

Tillman began releasing records in 2004, and soon attracted comparisons to the likes of Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Elliott Smith and even Nick Drake. Gentle, blues-recalling numbers are his calling cards, and with arrangements always slight, Tillman allows room aplenty for his wonderfully disconsolate voice.
